11. it produces only around 7 million tons of coal annually. Also in the backlog is a new coal mine in Craig, Colorado to furnish coal for the generation of electricity at an estimated annual rate in full production of 2.2 million tons. If this mine survives under sensible surface mining legislation as contrasted to the asinine Mansfield Amendment now contained in Senate Bill 425, it will represent still another addition to Utah's future earning strength. Not all is well on the mining scene either in the United States or else-where. Utah has its share of problems but I will be content to keep our problems and our prospects compared with those of other companies and other industries. I would like to close with the comment that records such as that compiled by Utah do not just happen. They are made by men and not by a single man. They come when an able, hard working and intelligent management team enjoys the confidence of and the backing of a Board of Directors with courage, wisdom, and well-deserved confidence in the management. Utah International has been blessed with these circumstances, and I am confident that this condition will continue to exist long after some of us who have been on the scene since the period of transition began are no longer on the scene.
