Show FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT GENERALLY BRINGS BENEFITS TO BOTH THE HOST COUNTRY AND TO THE INVESTOR AND THAT DEVELOPING COUNTRIES CANNOT DEVELOP RAPIDLY WITHOUT A SUBSTANTIAL INFLOW OF FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT, BUT NOW THE FREE FLOW OF INVESTMENT ACROSS NATIONAL BOUNDARIES MAY DIMINISH IN SOME CASES, DRY UP ALTOGETHER IN OTHERS, IT MAY FALL VICTIM TO THE RISING TIDE OF NATIONALISM, THE EBBING TIDE OF INTERNATIONAL MORALITY, THE SUBSTITUTION OF GOVERNMENTAL DECISIONS FOR THE FREE AND UNINHIBITED JUDGMENTS OF THE MARKET PLACE, POLITICAL DECISIONS ARE OVERRIDING ECONOMIC DECISIONS, AND THIS IS MOVING THE WORLD IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. NATIONS HAVE BANDED TOGETHER TO ELIMINATE COMPETITION BY FORMING PRODUCER CARTELS. OPEC IS THE MOST SUCCESSFUL AND HERE THE RAPID AND ARTIFICIALLY INDUCED RISE IN PRICE HAS HARMED EVERY NATION |
