Show 17. because the nuclear power plants have not come on stream as scheduled. Utah now anticipates shipping 6. 2 million pounds of uranium in 1974, and 4. 8 million pounds in 1975. If there is no slippage in this schedule, uranium earnings in 1974 should be up sharply from the '73 levels but not in as great a proportion as the physical volume figures would indicate. Some of the contracts have an escalation adjustment based on changes in the labor and wholesale price indexes but unit costs, particularly at Shirley Basin where we have had some physical mining problems as well as an inability to maintain an adequate labor force in a remote area, are tending to rise faster than prices are increasing.
