WHILE EACH CATEGORY WAS GIVEN THE SAME PERCENTAGE INCREASE WHEN THE DUES WERE RAISED, OVER THIS 7-YEAR PERIOD COAL, CEMENT, AND THE NON-MINING COMPANIES HAVE BEEN RELATIVELY SHELTERED FROM THE IMPACT OF INFLATION ON THIER DUES TO AMC WHILE THE REMAINING MINING CATEGORIES HAVE HAD THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO THE TOTAL DUES INCREASED AS MINERAL PRICES WENT UP IN RESPONSE TO INFLATION. IN AN EFFORT TO RECOGNIZE THIS PROBLEM AND TO APPROACH WHATEVER DEGREE OF EQUITY EXISTED IN 1969, THE AD HOC COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED AND THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAS ADOPTED A PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES ESSENTIALLY THESE THINGS: 1. THE RATE OF DUES WILL BE CHANGED GRADUALLY EACH YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1977 THROUGH 1980. 11 - 2. THE RATE OF DUES FOR THE NON-MINING COMPANIES WILL BE RAISED
