(Slide #4 - Pima Mining Company -showing pounds of copper sold and Utah's share of earnings) Our other important affiliate, Pima Mining Company, had a milling capacity of 6, 000 tons in 1960 and has increased this to 38, 000 tons daily at the present time and is in the process of expanding this to 53,000 tons daily. This expansion in capacity, coupled with rising copper prices, has allowed Utah's share of the earnings to increase from less than $500,000 to $4,900,000 this last year. Weakening copper prices will cause Pima's earnings to decline in the coming year but thereafter we are hopeful that the increased expansion |
