I COME BY THIS NATURALLY FOR I AM FROM A FAMILY THAT IS PROUD TO CLAIM FRIENDSHIP WITH THE BECHTEL FAMILY THROUGH FOUR GENERATIONS, IT STARTED WITH W. A. BECHTEL AND MY GRANDFATHER, E. O. WATTIS, AND THE LATEST IN THE FRIENDSHIP'S SUCCESSION ARE NONI BECHTEL AND MY DAUGHTER, DENISE. AT ONE TIME W. A. BECHTEL AND MY UNCLE RAY WATTIS WERE PARTNERS IN A COMPANY CALLED WATTIS BECHTEL WHO WORKED AS SUBCONTRACTORS FOR THE UTAH CONSTRUCTION COMPANY. IT IS TO DAD BECHTEL'S CREDIT THAT THIS PARTNERSHIP WAS DISSOLVED AFTER A RELATIVELY SHORT DURATION BECAUSE MY UNCLE RAY WAS A NICE MAN BUT HAD A PERSISTENT FLAW IN HIS CHARACTER THAT KEPT HIM OUT OF THE UTAH CONSTRUCTION COMPANY ORGANIZATION AND MADE |
