WHEN IT COMES TO RAISING MONEY TO FUND PROFESSORSHIPS, ARJAY BATTED 0 FOR 23 ON THE WELLS BOARD AND 5 FOR 13 ON THE UTAH BOARD. I WON'T SAY WE IN UTAH WERE COERCED BUT I UNDERSTAND THE "PROTECTION RACKET" A LOT BETTER NOW. THANKS TO ARJAY, MY UTAH FRIENDS ARE CONVINCED NOW THAT TITHING IS A SMALL PRICE TO PAY FOR A CHANCE AT ETERNAL SALVATION. SOME OF THESE PERSONAL INCONVENIENCES WERE OBSCURED AS WE WATCHED THE THRILLING SPECTACLE OF STANFORD GAINING GROUND ON HARVARD IN THE ACADEMIC POLLS. THEN THIS LAST YEAR STANFORD SHOT PAST HARVARD IN THE RATINGS. OUR JUDGMENT IN SELECTING ARJAY SEEMED VINDICATED AS HAD ARJAY'S JUDGMENT IN IGNORING SALINGER'S LAW AS QUOTED BY JACK PARKER; "QUIT WHILE YOU'RE STILL BEHIND." IN SPITE OF THE FACT THAT ALL THE TOP SPOTS IN THE FAST FOOD CHAINS WERE ALREADY FILLED, ONCE STANFORD GOT THE LEAD, ARJAY QUICKLY QUIT. HE MUST HAVE SUSPECTED THAT HARVARD WOULD PROVE TO BE A POOR
