Show Record Copy Remarks to Shareholders - February 9, 1971 You and I as shareholders owe this distinguished gentleman a debt of gratitude for the tremendous contribution that he has made to this company and indeed to this country. Marriner has served this company as a Director for almost fifty years. When he joined the Board in 1921, the company was operating at a loss and had a net worth of only $4, 000, 000. Over half of its assets were represented by ranch lands, cattle, sheep, hogs, horses, and feed. Its principal construction project then underway was the building of the O'Shaughnessy Dam for the Hetch Hetchy water system serving San Francisco.
