The charges being capitalized in 1972 and 1973 primarily arise out of the Saraji coking coal mine now under construction. As our earnings have increased so have our Income Taxes. The percentage of our net income before tax represented by income taxes has varied from year to year, depending upon the relative contribution of earnings from affiliates, the product mix of earnings, and the country mix of earnings. 14 On a fully diluted basis our Earnings Per Share have also shown a steady strong upward growth from 29 in 1964 to $1.80 in 1973.
