GENERAL ELECTRIC APPEARED BY ALL ODDS THE MOST ATTRACTIVE MERGER PARTNER THAT WE COULD SEEK. GENERAL ELECTRIC WAS ALREADY DIVERSIFIED. GENERAL ELECTRIC WAS WELL KNOWN TO US AND REPRESENTED THE QUALITIES OF CHARACTER THAT WE IN UTAH INTERNATIONAL HAVE PRIZED. AND I HAD OPPORTUNITY AT FIRST HAND TO APPRAISE AND HOLD IN THE HIGHEST ESTEEM GENERAL ELECTRIC'S MANAGEMENT. THE MERGER REPRE-SENTED A SENSIBLE SOLUTION TO UTAH'S PROBLEMS.
