THOUGH LESS THAN MY EASTERN OFFERS, HE PAID ME TWICE AS MUCH AS STANDARD OF CALIFORNIA COULD PAY ME UNDER THEIR POLICY ON RETURNING VETERANS. MORE IMPORTANTLY, HE OUTLINED A PROGRAM FOR ME WHICH BROUGHT ME IN AS ASSISTANT TO THE VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING AND THEN IN ORDERLY PROGRESSION SAW ME IN TEN YEARS THE TOP MARKETING MAN AND WITH A VERY GOOD SHOT AT THE PRESIDENCY. REMEMBER, I WAS ESSENTIALLY A FINANCIAL MAN AND HAD HAD NO EXPERIENCE IN SALES OR MARKETING.
