Show 7. MINING SHOW. INCOME IN 1977 is EXPECTED TO DECLINE 23.4% TO $3.2 MILLION EVEN AFTER ALLOWING FOR HIGHER DUES REVENUE RESULTING FROM IMPROVED BUSINESS CONDITIONS. 1977 EXPENSES ARE BUDGETED AT $3.8 MILLION OR 5.6% HIGHER THAN THOSE PROJECTED FOR 1976. THIS PROVIDES FOR 2% MERIT AND 6% COST-OF-LIVING SALARY INCREASES, THREE ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL STAFF AND TWO SECRETARIAL/CLERICAL PEOPLE TO COPE WITH THE ADDITIONAL WORK LOAD, AND FOR HIGHER COSTS OF THE MATERIALS AND SERVICES THAT AMC MUST BUY. A PRELIMINARY FORECAST FOR 1978 INDICATES AN INCREASE IN THE GENERAL RESERVE WITH THE ADDED INCOME THAT COMES FROM THE COAL CONVENTION AND FROM THE MINING SHOW IN LAS VEGAS. THIS SHOULD BRING THE RESERVE BALANCE BACK TO $1.4 MILLION, NONE TOO MUCH IN ALL THE CIRCUMSTANCES. |
