AT UTAH FOR OVER 18 YEARS, IT HAS BEEN AN EXCITING, SATISFYING AND REWARDING EXPERIENCE, THE COMPANY EARNINGS HAVE GROWN AT THE COMPOUNDED RATE OF 19% FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS, 25% FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS, AND 37% FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS. IN THOSE 20 YEARS AN INVESTMENT OF $1000 MADE IN 1956/ WAS WORTH $74,000 AT THE END OF 1976. THE NAME OF THE COMPANY WAS CHANGED TO UTAH CONSTRUCTION & MINING CO. AND THEN TO UTAH INTERNATIONAL INC., REFLECTING THE TRANSITION OF THE COMPANY'S ACTIVITIES. THE CONSTRUCTION ASSETS WERE SOLD IN 1968, THE DREDGES IN 1970. THE MINING ACTIVITIES WERE EXPANDED HERE BUT ESPECIALLY OVERSEAS. IN ITS LAST FISCAL YEAR UTAH INTERNATIONAL EARNED $179 MILLION, MORE THAN ANY OTHER MINING COMPANY HEADQUARTERED IN THE UNITED STATES. EARNINGS SET NEW RECORDS IN EACH OF THE LAST 12 YEARS AND THE DIVIDEND WAS INCREASED IN EACH OF THE LAST 23 |
