GOLDEN STATE HAD AN UNERRING INSTINCT FOR MAKING THE WRONG DECISION, EVEN WHEN THE RIGHT ANSWER WAS PROPOSED AS AN ALTERNATE. THE ABLE MEN WERE FEW, WERE FRUSTRATED AND HERMETICALLY SEALED OFF FOR THE MOST PART BY THE OLDER FEUDING FACTIONS. I HAD SIX JOBS IN FIVE YEARS AND ENDED UP AS THE SECOND HIGHEST PAID PERSON IN THE COMPANY. AS THE COMPANY'S FORTUNES FALTERED, MR. BUCK BECAME ILL AND NEVER RETURNED TO THE OFFICE. WE RAN THE COMPANY FOR A YEAR WITH NO ONE IN CHARGE AND FINALLY MR. BUCK WAS PERSUADED TO RELINQUISH THE REINS TO HIS TRUSTED FRIEND - NONE OTHER THAN RALPH K.
