Show 25. molybdenum, and rhenium. The copper concentrates are sold under two contracts to Japanese smelters with the prices determined by a three month average of the price on the London Metal Exchange. In 1972 start-up problems with the grinding circuits caused this property to operate well below designed capacity and the shipments of copper in concentrate were only 64,873,000 pounds at an average gross revenue per pound of copper sold of 51.1 including by-product values. This year the operating problems were overcome and the concentrator has in the latter part of the year operated at capacity levels. With improved production, unit costs declined at the same time that prices were increasing sharply. Part of the improvement above 50 a pound is shared with the smelters. |
