IT WAS MORE THAN JUST ITS RICH ENDOWMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES THAT ALLOWED IT TO SO PROGRESS. SPECIFICALLY, THE UNITED STATES OFFERED ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY COMBINED WITH MORALITY AND EQUAL PROTECTION UNDER THE LAW.
