PERHAPS IT'S IMPERTINENT OF ME TO BRING THIS UP ON SUCH A FRIENDLY OCCASION. WHAT LITTLE ATTENTION I'VE HAD FROM THE PRESS HAS BEEN DECENT. BUT AS A FRIEND OF THE FAMILY, I WANT TO REPORT THAT YOU MIGHT BE DEVELOPING A CREDIBILITY PROBLEM OF YOUR OWN. THERE'S A VERY THOUGHTFUL ARTICLE IN THE LATEST ISSUE OF THE AMERICAN SCHOLAR (WINTER 1975/76) BY A POLISH WRITER NOW LIVING IN THIS COUNTRY, NAMED LEOPOLD TYRMAND. IT'S ENTITLED "THE MEDIA SHANGRI-LA" AND IT'S ABOUT THE ALMOST INDISPUTABLE POWER OF THE MEDIA TODAY TO DETERMINE NOT ONLY WHAT THE PUBLIC WILL SEE AND HEAR, BUT ALSO WHAT THE PUBLIC WILL THINK ABOUT IT.
